HoloMedicine® Patient Viewer

Spatial Imaging. Clinical Workflows. Effortless Interaction

HoloMedicine® Patient Viewer is a Class IIa medical device that brings patient-specific imaging data into spatial computing environments, enabling qualified healthcare professionals to interact intuitively with multi-planar reconstructions and spatial renderings of medical data (DICOM).

Available on Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S, the application supports passthrough mode, real-time windowing adjustments, and planning tools such as freehand slicer and crosshair projection, synchronized between 2D and 3D views for a seamless multimodal experience.

Designed for use in operating rooms and hospital office environments, Patient Viewer combines spatial visualization with a user-friendly interface to support tasks such as preoperative case exploration, multidisciplinary case discussions, and surgical planning preparation.

CE-marked under EU Regulation 2017/745. Currently available in the European Union.

Use Cases

Designed for real-world clinical scenarios, HoloMedicine® Patient Viewer adapts to the workflows of surgical teams, radiologists, and multidisciplinary clinical staff.

Preoperative Case Exploration

Load patient imaging data and explore detailed anatomy in 2D and 3D using intuitive tools like freehand slicers and synchronized crosshair-linked views. Understand anatomical relationships, identify regions of interest, and prepare for procedures in a spatial environment.

Multidisciplinary Case Discussions

Present and review complex cases in an immersive, spatial workspace. Navigate multimodal medical data in real time, enabling structured discussion across disciplines , including tumor boards, surgical planning meetings, and case reviews.

Surgical Planning Support

Review surgical approach options and explore anatomical relationships relevant to the planned procedure. Combine DICOM volumes with 3D attachments such as segmentations, implants, or surgical guides to support informed planning discussions among qualified healthcare professionals.

Patient Education

Help patients understand their condition or upcoming procedure by visualizing their imaging data spatially. Qualified healthcare professionals can use Patient Viewer to explain anatomy, pathology, or surgical context in a way that supports clearer patient communication.

Multi-Planar Reconstruction (MPR)

View axial, sagittal, and coronal slices using intuitive navigation. Scroll through image stacks, zoom, pan, and reset views effortlessly. Crosshair projection links slice positions across planes, enabling anatomical orientation and correlation. Adjust grayscale contrast dynamically to highlight different tissue types through real-time windowing controls.

Spatial DICOM Visualization

Visualize patient-specific anatomy in full 3D using spatial rendering. Rotate, move, and scale datasets freely, and use slicers aligned to anatomical directions or positioned freely to inspect internal structures from any angle.

DICOM Attachments

Display 3D polygon models such as segmentations, implants, surgical guides, or other anatomical structures alongside DICOM data in spatial alignment. Attachments appear as cross-section overlays on the MPR planes and as 3D meshes in the spatial view, with adjustable color and transparency. Upload attachment meshes (STL, OBJ, GLB) via HoloMedicine® Patient Manager and link them to the corresponding DICOM dataset. Attachments follow all transforms applied to the base volume, maintaining their spatial relationship throughout the session.

Collaboration

Join live sessions with remote colleagues for tumor board–style case discussions. Share views, plannings, and data in real time in a synchronized virtual environment.

Compatible Devices

HoloMedicine® Patient Viewer is compatible with Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S. Available on the Meta Horizon Store.
